Just Jaq – The Way I See Things
I have always been fascinated by photography and loved looking back at family photographs. My parents always made sure they used the resources they had to capture important family moments, creating a personal record of our family history which in my eyes is priceless.
I grew up in the countryside with a vivid imagination and a love of art and photography, eventually studying and exploring these subjects at college and university and then pursued a career in the arts spanning fifteen years in the North West of England. During this time, I experienced a diverse range of cultures and worked with many creative and inspiring people.
In 2012, I changed my career direction from working as an Art Curator and Arts Development Officer to further explore my love of photography and to discover my own style, that I can share with other people in a meaningful and genuine way.
I believe that photography is a very personal thing, some people like a minimalist style, some prefere fine art, reportage or documentary, others love fashion and some like formal or traditional photography. I do not label myself, my approach is genuine and sincere, I love getting to know people, taking notice, being creative and having fun and my aim is to tell stories through the lens of my camera.
